Soldering Deans Connectors – Royal County Aeromodellers’ Club

Take a piece of MDF or Ply approximately 3"x1.5"

Drill three holes. Two 3.5mm, spaced to match the Deans and one 4mm.

Take the male and female connectors.

Its important to always connect the female side to the battery pack.

And the male to the ESC.

Plug the connectors together. This stops the pins going out of alingment when the plastic gets hot.

Press the two terminals you're NOT going to solder into the matching holes in the block.

The connector is a tight fit in the block so you can orientate the terminals to make soldering easy.

Strip the battery leads one at a time and slip a piece of shrink tubing over the lead BEFORE you solder it.

Insulate the terminal with the shrink tube before you strip the other lead.

Ensure that you maintain the same polarity for all your battery packs and ESCs.

The third hole is for soldering bullet style connectors.
